Bluffs

We are coming up to bluffs alongside the Illinois River. This is the edge of what was once an eastern inland saltwater sea that existed from the Devonian era to the Cretaceous. There were fossils of Dunkleosteus, a large, scary, Devonian fish, from this sea and the it stretched all the way to Pennsylvania. I have found fossils from this sea back in State College.
